Hi
I’m looking for a good drawing pen and tablet to use with SU.
I use the mouse and works well… just wondering if a pen and graphics tablet is better…??
What’s your thoughts??

I have a 21" Wacom Cintiq which I like for a lot of things but I’ve never liked working in SketchUp with it. I much prefer using a standard 3-button mouse instead of the stylus for SketchUp. Some folks do like using a tablet and stylus though.
I’ve had a Wacom Intuos 5 for some years and it doesn’t get used because like DaveR I find a 3 button mouse much easier for SketchUp (I have a Logitech MX Vertical)
Thank you both for replying…
I have a 2 button mouse… I’ll try a 3 button and see… I was wondering if pen and drawing tablet works better… but sounds like pen not needed…

FWIW, a three button mouse has left, right and center. The center button is also the scroll wheel.
Agree with the comments above… Mouse is much easier to use on SU…
Nevertheless, I also have a Samsung S4 tablet with SPen and it is an essential part of my SU workflow… and would encourage any architect to do yourself a favour and get one…
The best bangs for bucks I have ever owned… in relation to SU workflow…
I screen capture from my SU model on the PC,
email the Image to myself…
open up on my S4 using the Autodesk Sketchbook app (free)
Sketch over the S4 and design ideas, markups, overlays etc
Send directly to the client for feedback of staff to implement back in SU…
Complete paperless office…
no expensive sets of Copic Pens,
no messy watercolours,
no running out of yellow trace… etc etc etc
Also have the SU Viewer app on the S4,
so I can view my SU models anywhere…
screen capture with a hand swipe and
sketch over ideas and
email all from the S4…
PS composed all this from my local coffee shop
