Continuing the discussion from What are some great rendering extensions for SketchUp?:
unfortunately there are plugins that do that [badly], and do not inform the user that they have done it…
have a look at many of the ‘SU fails to open’ threads and you’ll find files with huge model definitions behind the issue…
IMHO, 3dWarehouse should ‘purge’ any uploaded model of this data…
