What causes the screen to crack or jump when zooming?

hello, geometry that is too far from origin. Or being too hard on your scrolling wheel ! can you explain crack or jump ?

Please explain more fully what you mean by “crack or jump”. I can’t tell from the image you posted. Another guess is that you are in perspective projection and zoomed in close enough that you moved inside an object. Things “behind” the camera are clipped out.

Apologies for the lack of explanation. :man_bowing:
For the past few days, I’ve been experiencing an issue where, when I try to edit a model that’s not particularly large in file size and not too far from the origin, the screen jumps or a cross section appears at a fairly distant point when I zoom in.

The only thing I’ve done differently recently is edit the style, save it as a template, and start using that.

Can you share your model here? What I’m seeing in your video seems like the sort of clipping I mentioned, but it’s hard to be certain from just the video.

I’ll send you the model file.
The scene will jump and show cross sections from “Zoom 2” to “Zoom 3” :woman_shrugging:

251202_When zooming, the screen cracks or jumps.skp (8.8 MB)

I’m not seeing what you describe. I do get clipping when I zoom in too close but that’s with the camera moving into the model.

It looks like it’s working fine in your video.
So I think there’s some kind of problem with my Sketchup Pro 2025 :sad_but_relieved_face:

You could update to SketchUp 2026. You do have an active subscription, right?

Maybe it’s your graphics card and it’s drivers.

My company is still using version 2025, so I can’t update to version 2026, but it’s possible that there’s a problem with the graphics card driver.
Thank you! :folded_hands:
