Well... I'm stuck - How to place multiple copies of a component?

From what I’ve been told, the planimetric CAD file for the campus model has points for trees. The trees we are putting in are sketchup components. Essentially the way this is going to have to happen is that I will have to drape the points over the topography but that mixes it into a different layer which is concerning. I’d have to manually put in all the trees which sounds hectic.

  1. Put the trees on points (@eric-s showed you how) ;
  2. Drop the trees (not the points) onto topography (with DropGC).

ok so I’m now approaching the deadline to have these trees by… I need to reword my statement. I DO NOT have the trees, only the points. these points don’t want to work with the tools i have and Im not going to be happy if it ends up with me manually placing 3000+ trees
Powerbar does not work

UMBC_2006_Trees singluar layer.dwg (464.5 KB)

What does it mean it does not work? What did you try to do?
What version did you install?

with JHS Powerbar in Google SketchUp 8

I’m using sketchup pro 2018 with JHS Powerbar (no year given)

Does something like this help?TREES UMBC 2006.skp (1.0 MB)

Anyway I clicked on the points and then the component. From there I pressed the “select C-points…” button

by TIG, from here Place components at guide points? • sketchUcation • 1

That uses a newer model I need 18
can you save it as an older version
