View SketchUp files on Raspberry Pi

We are working hard on a 3D Viewer for Raspberry Pi : http://pi3dviewer.quickmvp.com/

For those who don’t know what is Raspberry Pi : The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer that plugs into your TV and a keyboard. It is a capable little computer which can be used in electronics projects, and for many of the things that your desktop PC does, like spreadsheets, word-processing and games. It only costs $35. (http://www.raspberrypi.org/)

It will be great educational tool to get kids interested in STEM and engineering fields. Apart from that it will be a great tool for ‘maker’ community to view their design files right on Raspberry Pi.

We are currently planning to support following popular 3D file formats

  1. SketchUp (http://www.sketchup.com)
  2. STL (Used widely in 3D printing)
  3. OBJ
  4. DXF

It will cost less than a burger ($5).

Let us know what you think and how it can offer you more value. If you want certain features to be added just let us know.

Thank you!

This is great! Ill have to try it out on my Pi-Top when you guys get it up and running!

It could be interesting to somehow link it to STL export for 3D Printing?
