Quite an object. You needed at least two servants to carry that. To cite a much newer Rolls-Royce owner’s manual: “In case of … tell your man to…”.

It must have some contraption to prevent everything in the upper drawers from falling out when the trunk is being closed to start its journey to India.

I did an image search and found references to steamer or dresser trunks. When reading about them in books, I never pictured something like this. Makes sense. This one shows one way of securing the drawers, etc.
