V-Ray Shower Glass Appears Blurry – How to Make It Clear?

I’m rendering a bathroom with a shower enclosure, but the glass keeps appearing blurry in my V-Ray render.

  • Screenshot 1: The bathroom render showing the blurry shower glass
  • Screenshot 2: My V-Ray material settings for the glass

What can I adjust to make the shower glass look clear and realistic?

Hard to tell with such a low quality image, but is that bit the reflection of the toilet / sink?

I trust you’ve played with all the sliders?

What happens when you adjust the fog depth under refraction?

Have you tried using a clear glass from Cosmos to see how it works in your scene?

You’ve create a material that has mutliple levels of opacity and multiple reflective and refractive layers. This is going to look strange and take longer to render.

As Bmike suggests, get a glass material from Cosmos and save yourself the hassle.
You’ll need one labeled as “thin” if your glass has no thicnkess.

+2 here. No need to monkey around with the glass settings when there are several good glass materials in Cosmos to use as your starting point. Also make sure you have no Reversed Faces in your model. That can affect how materials, especially glass, renders.

Awesome, thank you for your response. I’ll grab one from Cosmos
