I am still using Pro 2022. I have been afraid to update. The last time I updated I lost all my extensions.
Does anyone know where extensions are typically stored on the computer? Or how do I reload them once I have updated.
The only reason I am updating is the warehouse will no longer be available to older versions.
This isn’t really the right way to think of what happens. Instead, when you install a newer version of SketchUp it’s installing as a new application, not replacing the older version. The extensions aren’t lost, they just aren’t installed in the new version.
Extensions often need updates with new versions of SketchUp so it usually isn’t a good idea to simply copy over the extensions from the previous version. Many extensions also have thier own installers so simply copying them doesn’t work. In either case you can end up chasing loading errors. Best practice is to install the latest copies of extensions from their sources. Any extensions that came from Sketchucation can be install ed from your “bundle” if you used the Sketchucation ExtensionStore to install them previopusly.
Thank you. I can figure out how to reload most of them.
It’s Sketchucation that was the pain in the ass last time.
I can’t live without Fredo Corner.
That should be the easy one because you should just be installing the SketchUcation Extension Store in the new version of SketchUp and then using it to install your bundle from the previous version.
Here’s part of my bundle of Sketchucation extensions for SketchUp 2024.
when it’s time to update to 2025 I will install the current version of the Sketchucation Extension Store tool, sign in, go to the Bundles page and click the Install button. Done.
