Update of Sketchup doesn't overwrite old version?

Hi there,

I’m sorry to ask such a newbie type of question but I’ve got minutes of my day that I can spend on this topic :frowning:
I’m new to Sketchup and I have 2021 and keep getting reminders that updates are available. I pressed Download and Install once before but it just installed a whole other copy of Sketchup without the plugins (like vray) being available.
So am I to understand that it isn’t really an update per se? I’d still have to uninstall the old version and reinstall vray et al?
I’m hoping that I’m just doing it wrong and someone can spare a moment to advise?

Hi Alberto

My understanding is that each version of SketchUp on our system is effectively a standalone program.

This means we have to reinstall our plugins for each version.
