I have never done this before but am trying to add an image of a clothing pattern to a model in Sketchup. How do I actually do this? I want only 1 full image to show on model to resemble a pattern envelope.
My result (due to lack of knowledge) turns out as you see on images.

You can apply the texture to a flat surface, right click it, set Texture Positioning to be projected, pick it up with the Paint Bucket Eye Dropper tool and apply it to the curved surface.
Thank you for the help, I will try out these tips. 
Make sure that you apply the projected texture directly to the faces and not a container (group or component).
