With help from Tim in support, I was able to get 2024 back. I deleted 2025, and can now see all my thumbnail previews!! What a relief. I will keep checking into the forum to see if 2025 has been fixed, hopefully they find a way soon. Thanks all.
On OSX 15.6, with Sketchup 2025, finder is not showing thumbnails of skp files save in SU2025.
I tried all of the above, nothing worked, cleared thumbnail cache, turned Quick Look on for SU, etc, restarted, saved files again etc, nothing worked.
Installed Sketchup 2024, thumbnails of files saved in SU2025 still not showing, but any files I save in SU24 do show thumbnails. Annoying, as Iāve done a lot of work in SU2025 and canāt see the thumbnails!
Ok then I changed the size of the thumbnails, with the scale slider, in finder, randomly some files then showed their thumbnails!, then at other scales more showed, then moving the scale slider back the thumbnails disappeared. Weird. So I have some kind of workaround, being able to see some or mainly all thumbnails at some thumbnail scales, but kinda random which I can see or not based on their scale! When opening a file in SU, and using the open window there with icon view, the thumbnails have a fixed size, so some may show others not, and no way to change the scale of the thumbnails in there - to randomly show the thumbnails.
The above behaviour also seems to be happening with jpeg photo thumbnails in finder, so I think this is an Apple issue not Sketchup (or itās both, but maybe mainly Apple).

ā¦mmm the solution there was to drag a window of files over to another Mac with a linked screen extension, and then the thumbnails might be visible. Crazy.
Using SU2025 and resizing the thumbnails, of files saved in SU2025, didnāt work in the end, only for files saved in SU2024. So Iāve gone back to SU2024, seems to work ok with the thumbnails, even when using the open dialog box in SU. Something about SU2025 and OSX is just not getting along. Iāll stay with SU2024 until I hear of a proper fix with SU2025!
SU2024 is the current fix.
No, that didnāt fix it. I was showing that the same set of files when copied to a Mac running the latest release version, would lose the thumbnails. Copying the files after the thumbnails are lost, back to the Mac with a future macOS on it, got the thumbnails back. Suggesting the current macOS has the problem, and future macOS might have a fix in it.
