When it works, Thrupaint is wonderful. But on my Mac, it rarely does. I assume I am doing something wrong. When I select a tool (paint face, paint group), it often simply does not work. Sometimes it does. The tool palette that shows all the options usually does not appear. But then sometimes it does. Without this palette, I cannot adjust texture size, position etc.
Any thoughts?
This is in SketchUp 2023 and Mac OS 13.6?
What version of ThruPaint are you using? What version of Libfredo6? What version of the Sketchucation Tool?
Have you reported this in the ThruPaint thread at Sketchucation?
When you open ThruPaint,
- the first time, you get the material browser dialog.
- Then, you only get the button palette, but you can call the material browwser at any time by clicking on the button, as shown below.
Sorry. Just updated my profile.
It had been a few years …..
Good deal.
Indeed it has.
Did Fredo solve your issue?
I just quit and reopened SKP and Thrupaint palette appeared. I open Thrupaint by going to VIEW - TOOL PALETTES - THRUPAINT. I assume this is the usual method. See first pic.
In the second attached pic, you can see my screen with the full Thrupaint palette. This is what I want.
The third pic is a cropped screengrab that shows the Thrupaint pallet which is often missing. I do not know how to make it appear.
The fourth pic is a cropped screengrab that shows the four paintbrush tools. Often, this is the only palette I see. It’s not much good to me. And it often simply does not work, let alone give me the ability to manipulate textures. Is this a bug for me? Or simple ignorance?
thanks
What happens if you then click the button Fredo indicated?
Is this a screenshot from your computer? If so, you can’t see the button Fredo indicated? It shows in your image.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. When it does not, I cannot see this toolbar
Do you have the latest versions of ThruPaint, LibFredo6, and the SketchUcation Tool installed? That would be ThruPaint 2.8d, LibFredo6 15.5a, and ExtensionStore 5.0.3.
I’m also have the same issue, when planning to use ThruPaint, I usually open a new SketchUp session, although this procedure isn’t 100% reliable, I generally manage to use it as intended. Sometime the toolbar it’s partially hidden, but I can see the tool that open the material browser.
