If someone had a similar problem, it is solved by copying the text, putting it in a text editor (any one), then returning it back to the layout, the text becomes visible for editing, it is a pity that none of the “notables” of the forum sketchup did not pay attention to the solutions to my problem.
Most everyone ‘notable’ here is a volunteer - with the exception of a few SketchUp employees that check in and help out. We don’t always see all the posts, and we answer ones that we think we can help.
Next time, in addition to posting the file post a screenshot.
I will guess that you copied this in from another file, in which case there are issue with the formatting / hard returns that are transferring to LayOut.
Whenever I copy text from a PDF / TXT or Word Doc I use a small extension for my Mac that allows me to paste it without formatting, basically just as the text. This solves a lot of these issues. I’m guessing there is a way to do that on Windows as well.
Thank you, yes it is, I was too lazy to write a text, I decided to quickly transfer it, but I had never encountered this before.
Often times there are issues with how document text gets read when pasted into LayOut. Before I found out about my extension I would always copy text (often provided by engineer or architect) into a blank TXT file before copying and pasting to LO.
