Hi all !!!
I’m trying to put the same texture/colour of the arrow on the picture on the arrow that I’ve drawn in 3D.
The only thing that have could come with is, on the picture, get rid of everything but the arrow and try to fit it on top. I guess it’s about the worst way to do it. I like to know how you PROs, would approach it. It wouldn’t have to be perfect. But I just don’t want to have a plain orange color. I could easily add the little white bulb afterward. I suppose I would have had to use some kind of a texture projection or maybe not at all…
Texture Projection isn’t appropriate and won’t help in this case. Either you need to draw the arrow so it matches the exact shape of the arrow in the image or you need to do a perspective correction of the image in an image editor to fit better. Simplest thing would probably be to trace the arrow on the image and use that instead of the arrow you’ve modeled.
I traced the arrow in the image. Making the Profile edges thicker and changing the edge color to something that’s easier to see makes it possible to see what you’ve traced.
Then I exploded the image so it becomes a texture and is applied automatically to the front faces of the arrow. I dragged in the blue and white part of the sign from over at the right.
