Do you have any suggestion of a more modern style for mecanical design with SketchUp ?
(The default green is not bad for 
fatigue, but is a little outdated.)

My default template style uses white for the background color. Some prefer a gray background. Make whatever you feel comfortable with.
Change your style and save it as a template…
Yes, I know, I just wanted some suggestions of settings.
Be reckless, blaze your own trail. Try some colors, see what works.
