Suddenly unexpected file format error

I have this school project that I’m working on. I worked yesterday and as always I was going to save the file but sketchup gave an error that says something about that I can’t save this file in the 2023 version and I have to save it as skp2020 file. So I saved it as 2020 file and just double checked that it still works and shut down my laptop. However since today I can’t open the file it keeps saying “unexpected file error” I tried so many things like skb files, downloading other versions of sketchup but none of it worked. Please Help me I was gone too far so far on this project it would be disaster to start over. @colin I saw u helped many ppl on same subject can u help me. and this is the file by the way Unique Download Link | WeTransfer

Your file is missing more than half its data, especially at the end. Where have you been saving the file while you were working on it?

on my desktop never changed the location

Maybe Colin will be able to recover something from it but at this stage I wouldn’t hold my breath if I were you. You could share the .skb file in case it is less damaged but if it’s something you need, you should probably go ahead and get started rebuilding it.

i tried to open skb file too so it is too skp file now which won’t open like the original one

Well, my suggestion is still to start on it again. If you have a current SketchUp subscription you have unlimited storage on Trimble Connect. Use it to save backups periodically in addition to saving on the local drive. Also make sure the local drive location is truly on the internal drive and not in some cloud location like Google Drive or One Drive.

OK. thank you for your attention I guess I will be starting over
