SU Pro 2016 - Adding a Layer

SU Pro 2016 - Cannot add a new layer.

The Layer toolbar window does not have the familiar Add Layer(+) and Delete Layer (-) buttons found in SU 15.

So how do I add a layer?

Use the Layer utility window which you should find in the tray.

The Layers toolbar doesn’t contain the + and - either.

So the only purpose of that Toolbar is to change the active Layer, but changing the active Layer is considered a “worst practice” when modeling in SketchUp? Just get rid of it then.

You can also put an existing object(s) on an existing layer (change layers). Select one or more objects, then click the layer in the toolbar.

I see. I have always used the Layers drop-down in Entity Info for that.

I had the same problem with 2016 version…
In the main tabs goto Windows>Default Tray
Check the Layer mark.
The Layers now will appear in your Default Tray window along with + (add Layer) and - (remove Layer) options.
