SU 26 edit toolbar problem

Anyone else seeing this issue?

You can migrate extensions nowadays but you cannot (yet) migrate toolbar preferences. So you have to laboriously recreate your favourite icons each update. Except…

I can choose Edit and the icons start jiggling away, but no panel to choose new icons from. All you can do once you get into this doom loop is quit SU and start again.

I do hope this is not another offending extension issues. That seems to be a new thing.

Anyone know how to resolve this?

Post deleted due to the pointlessness of the original post.

Yes I have.

This is a known issue on Mac due to a conflict with certain extensions, notably selection toys and 1001. Remove or disable those extensions and you will then be able to customize the toolbsr.

Had a feeling it might be that. But I thought it was being addressed in this latest update?

It’s probably those extensions that need to be updated.

Here are my extensions. I had already turned off Selection Toys to avoid problems. Can you see anything that is causing the issue?

They don’t seem to be showing up. Try these:

Why are you making PDFs of screen shots? If you use JPG or PNG you can drop them into a reply window.

That’s exactly what I tried doing in my previous post. They show up my end fine but don’t make it into the published post. Is it a Mac thing?

Maybe Lord of the Toolbars?

I’d turn off half of them. If that doesn’t solve the issue turn off half of what is left. Continue until you find it.

Be sure to restart between each try (at least that is what worked for me).

Shouldn’t be, I do it all the time. You can also let the screen cap hit your desktop and use the little upload thing.

Ooh, you’re good! Lord of the Toolbars it was. Thanks for the heads up.

I take a screen grab and send it to a folder I use for the purpose. I then use the “little upload thing” to get them here.

What I don’t get is any option to choose the file format, just the file location. Am I missing something (very possible - @Box treats me like an idiot!)?

OK, found it. You have to use the Terminal to change the default filetype. Simple enough once you know!

I just looked that up too. All mine are PNG’s. I don’t know why they don’t provide a more user friendly way to select an option. Is there something that changed the defaults on your system?

I have a vague recollection that I changed it to PDF from the default PNG some years back, probably because PDF is a more universal format for sharing.

A lot of people seem to wonder why changing format is not made easier. I did watch a video showing how to set up a shortcut that would allow you to choose from the various formats but it’s quite a faff.
