I posted a response under the SketchUp 2025 is Live! thread. I am not finding the materials folder.

I posted a reply under the SketchUp 2025 is Live! thread. Basically, I am not seeing the SketchUp folder under either SketchUp 2024 or SketchUp 2025. What the heck is wrong here?

OK, I guess I must be very stupid. I posted some screen shots of what I am seeing (and not seeing). What the heck am I doing wrong/not seeing? Am I looking in the wrong place?

OK, I guess this is the step I am missing:

How do I get to this option?

How to find the File Explorer options in Windows 11:

How to find the File Explorer options in Windows 10?

By default, File Explorer opens to Quick access. If you’d rather have File Explorer open to This PC, go to the View tab and then select Options.

OK - Here is my screen shot

And I clicked the OK button as you show in your video, but I am still not seeing the SketchUp folder under either SketchUp 2024 or 2025.

I do not see why they have done this to 2025. Seems they should have both sets of materials available.

I am grateful for your replies and do not understand why this is not working for me. BTW, shouldn’t you be able just to copy the folder from 2024 and then paste it in 2025 (assuming I can ever see the darn folder in 2024).

Another silly question, what is the file format of your video. I wish others would post videos like this so you can pause them. I see a lot of gif files and there is no way to pause them.

because they replaced the 20+y old 100px blurry images by new and improved 1000px ones.

you know how from time to time there is a thread where people mention that sketchup doesn’t look professional and needs a new interface and all that ?

Well personally, I disagree. the old materials on the other hand, they were really old and bad quality. even 15 years ago.

But it fully meets the requirements that some people (e.g. me) needed and have. Plus, it takes up less space.
However, I don’t mind if there are better materials if I change my mind!

I mean…

it’s a step up

sure.
however I like how they only give us a core lot of materials, and provide some 600-odd more in the warehouse.

Or grab them off the warehouse - 3D Warehouse

There are times when I just want to use one of the colors. The is primarily what I miss about the old ones.

ha ! here they are

they used to be in our profile, so I was wondering if they were gone for good.
