SSO Setup (Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD))

Hi all,

I’m part of the IT team at a large organisation and we’re looking to set up SSO (Enterprise federation) for SketchUp using Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).

I’ve reviewed the available help articles on Trimble ID and “federations,” but I’m still unclear on the exact steps required to configure this end-to-end. Specifically, I’d like to confirm:

  • Does SketchUp / Trimble ID support SAML or OIDC federation with Entra ID?

  • What information do we need to provide to Trimble in order to enable federation (e.g., DNS TXT verification, metadata files)?

  • Are there any official vendor documents or guides that walk through this process?

  • Has anyone here successfully implemented this and can share lessons learned (e.g., pilot setup, user mapping, enforcing SSO-only sign-in)?

Any pointers or step-by-step guidance would be greatly appreciated.
