Solid in Sketchup, but not a solid anywhere else

Hello! Somewhat new to Sketchup. I have been using it for only a couple of months and have run into a little issue with a 3D part that I have made.

The sketch, when grouped, shows as a solid. It has a volume and when using the Solid Inspector it shows as there being no issues, or rather, “No Errors. Everthing is Shiny.” I exported the file as 3D in the DWG format. In the options, I changed it to AutoCAD 2018, as that seemed to be the latest version in the drop down.

When the DWG file is opened in AutoCAD, it no longer shows as a solid, but instead it shows as a MESH. Then, when trying to convert it into a solid on AutoCAD, it says, “Cannot convert an open curve.”

Is there a way for me to fix this on Sketchup? Is there a step that I am missing or a setting I need to mess with before exporting it into DWG format?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

A Solid in AutoCad is a different thing than a solid in SketchUp. AutoCad solids are made with its solid object tools. SketchUp solid is a group or component that contains a “mesh” that is closed. I don’t have currently AutoCad but the Internet tells me that you can do a mesh to solid conversion in AutoCad
