Easier to make than a traditional square, too.
My father had me make my first one about 50 years ago, been using them ever since.
Lambda.
What strikes me most is you can scale it up affordably.
Yeah. And it could be made on site if needed.

I dunno. This technology could be dangerous if it fell into the wrong hands.
The undercarriage for a Hunslet Cloister steam locomotive. A bit of hardware and some plumbing to do. Then the boiler, some side panels, and the footplate.
Very cool. Are you planning to model the entire locomotive ?
Thanks and yes.
That’s fantastic! Is this image monochrome with shadows, or is it some other style?
Thanks. It was done with the Face Style set to Shaded with Textures but since there’s no materials applied it could be Monochrome. I used one of my sketchy line styles, though.
A little more plumbing and hardware to do, slap on some paint and send it off to the mine.
FWIW, this little tank engine is based on a physical model and is only about 300mm long. The original would have been used to haul ore wagons in a mine.
So, it billowed smoke into the limited oxygen mine shaft?
Actually I think it was used outdoors.
I found a photo of a real one.
OK, that makes sense.
Before everything became electrical, they had compressed air locomotives for mines and other sensitive locations. Or a stationary steam engine outside that dragged the carriages out of the mine with a cable.
I’ve modeled a number of bench vises but never one of those. If I could get my hands on and one I’d do a detailed model of it.
The turtle back square dome with embossed lettering would be fun. If I could get my hands on one of these I’d use it!
