Sketchup won't download, keeps saying: Please update to the latest version to continue your trial

I’ve paid for Sketchup Pro for a year.

Sketchup won’t download, I’ve tried for weeks now and I’m about to give up.

I have a MacBook Pro: OS Monterey 12.7.6 with Intel Iris Graphics 550 1536 MB

Everytime I download sketchup 2024 I get the message below.

Please update to the latest version to continue your trial.

Trials are no longer available in this version of SketchUp. Update to the latest version to continue.

I’ve tried everything: I”ve deleted the downloads, switched off and restarted the MacBook, updated user name, used different browsers.

Sketchup still won’t download. If anyone has any idea if sketchup can be downloaded then let me know.

If anyone can suggest anything I’d be grateful for a response to learn if sketchup will download and function.

because the latest version is 2026. and the trial version only works with the latest version, ie. 2026.

it looks like you might not have attributed the licence you bought to yourself, therefore sketchup only sees a trial on your account.

Unless there is someone with the same name as you, it looks like the subscription is an EDU one, and is assigned to your aru.ac.uk email. You would need to sign in with that email.

Thank you for your reply. It made me realise that I had not clicked on the link in the Welcome to Trimble e-mail to accept the invitation.

Instead what I had done was that, after paying for the subscription, I set up an account with my university e-mail address and then tried to download the software, which didn’t work and I kept getting the message about a trail when I’m not on a trial.

I’ve now accepted the invitation from the e-mail and created a 2nd account and new password (so now I have 2 accounts with the same name) and tried to download the software. I get the same message about the trial version so I still can’t download the software.

Thank you for your reply. Yes it’s an EDU one assigned to my uni e-mail. I have signed in with this e-mail and set up an account. But maybe it hasn’t been working as I had not clicked on the invitation link sent by Trimble. Now I have clicked on that invitation link and set up a 2nd account. The download still doesn’t work though. Maybe it’s confused by there being 2 accounts now.

It’s what you are signed into SketchUp that matters. In the welcome screen, click on the avatar in the upper right, and see what email address it is using.
