SketchUp Viewer Beta with Passthrough is live!

Hi everyone!

The SketchUp XR team is happy to announce that SketchUp Viewer Beta for Quest is now available on Meta’s App Lab, and offers exclusive access to early prototypes for upcoming features. If you have Quest 2, Quest 3, or Quest Pro, you can now join the Beta by following the instructions below to test the brand new Passthrough feature!

Step 1
Click this link to open SketchUp Viewer Beta on App Lab, sign-in using your Meta account, agree to Terms and click “Join”

Step 2
Put on your Quest device, go to the Store app and search for “SketchUp Viewer Beta”. The app will appear under App Lab at the bottom.

Step 3
Click “Download” in the app’s Details and then “Start”. You can later open it through your Library, and pin it for quick access.

Getting an error that the Beta app has expired and to download the latest build?

There is a full Sketchup Viewer app now. You can find it in the meta store if you’re running a quest headset.

It seems that there is a mix-up with the available releases of the application. We have now removed all older releases and a fresh install should fix the issue.

If that does not work, there are two ways to force-select the right channel:

Way 1: Go to the Meta stores page in the desktop browser and locate the SketchUp viewer Beta app. Under Additional Details -> Version + Release notes change the channel from Alpha to Live!!

Way 2: In your Meta Horizon mobile app, locate the SketchUp Viewer Beta app in the store. Under More Information click the version that’s listed. Change the channel from Alpha to Live
