We have an important update to share regarding our product offerings. The SketchUp team is dedicated to building solutions that deliver significant value to our users. As part of this commitment and with careful consideration for the future of XR in SketchUp, we are discontinuing development on the SketchUp Viewer for Meta Quest.
After September 16, 2025, the viewer will no longer be available for download. If you are an existing SketchUp Viewer user, you can continue to access the previously installed viewer until December 31, 2025. After that, access to the application will end. Read our Help Center article for more details.
SketchUp Viewer for Quest helped thousands of our users to create immersive VR experiences for viewing 3D models on the go, anytime and anywhere! We are proud of the innovative capabilities we delivered, such as Scan Space, which pushed the boundaries of XR technology at Trimble, and all the times the viewer has helped you experience your ideas and present your vision to clients and teams with confidence.
However, delivering the expected SketchUp performance and fidelity on Quest proved challenging. Additionally, industry-wide shifts, including a decreased focus on XR and head-mounted devices, influenced our decision. The insights gained from this project, including innovative feature development and understanding XR performance, will be valuable for our future endeavors and product strategies.
