Having good help tools is great - getting the hang of basic functions is a must before getting into complex things to avoid pitfalls. You wouldn’t try Hora Staccato on your first violin lessons, would you :wink:

To me the hardest is coming from a completely different 2D CAD package dating originally from 1993… It’s a whole new set of procedures to learn and to prevent my experience with my previous mainstay to interfere with what I need to learn to work in Sketchup effectively :wink:

Interesting, I’ve mostly used Sketchup to make models and cutting schedules for our kitchen renovation :slight_smile: I was especially concerned with maximizing material resource and so far have been able to to design cabinets using 11 5/8 x 96 surplus boards with less than 2% waste materials :slight_smile:

Since this highly resource efficient design is a bit constraining in actual use, I’m working on a second model that is more wasteful, but whose waste cuts I can exchange for full boards with my neighbour, who uses the same material to make small pieces, keeping this waste to a minimum :slight_smile:
