SketchUp Make not working

HI there, I know this has already been asked but the previous posts did not seem to answer it for me.

When I load Sketch up Make it comes up with : Module C:/Program Files/SketchUp/SketchUp2017/ThumbsUp.dll failed to register . HRESULT - 2147024770. Contact your support personnel.

Has anyone got any ideas for how to get beyond this? I have a windows 7 system, and used to have sketch up (I have uninstalled previous versions)

Its very frustrating.

Is this a new install or was it working previously?

When you install SketchUp, you should run the installer as an Administrator.

Thumbsup.dll is the shell extension that enables SketchUp files to display their thumbnails in Explorer.
