SketchUp Go on Mac- help to annotate imported DWG 2D floor plan

Hey,

Using SU Go on my Mac. I have imported a 2D DWG file sent from my architect of a property floor plan. I can draw a line or erase lines in the imported layout but I am unable to use paint to add colour to the plan or use push/pull to create a 3D version. It’s almost as if the layout is locked to using those tools. Can anyone advise how to rectify this or could my architect have provided the file in a format that is ‘locked’ to these using these tools? Thanks

Is there any faces in that model to apply textures to?

@mihai.s is probably on to it. 2D DWG files don’t normally import with faces so you would have to add those in so there’s something to paint. To do that open the component(s) to raw geometry and use the Line tool to trace existing edges to get faces to fill in.

FWIW, if you were using the desktop version instead of GO, there are extensions that can automate it.

BTW, please update your forum profile. It shows you are using SketchUp Free, not Go.
