I’ve read that can’t import PDFs into Layout but I was wondering if anyone has experience with adding a previously exported PDF into Layout on Mac. My predecessor made a map of our campus using Sketchup and I need to make a few edits but can’t find the finished layout or sketchup file but I do have the PDF that was exported.
I don’t typically use Mac but I have a laptop that I’m going to update and try it out.
Thanks!
I do this often with site plans from architects and builders.
Go to File>Import… if you are working with a scaled site plan or floor plan make sure the LayOut page size is the same as the document you are importing.
It will be an image, so you can’t edit it, but you can place things over it.
Thanks for the info, Mike.
I was hoping it would be recognized with its layers /models since it was made with LO. Would converting it to DWG or DXF then importing be a better option?
What are you trying to do? Recreate the whole project? Then convert to DWG, import to SketchUp, clean up and model what you need, send to LayOut and annotate as needed.
I’d like to just add a few more lines but if there any major future edits to our campus, I should probably do it the proper way like you’ve said: DWG, import to SU, clean up, send to LO.
Was hoping there would be more of a shortcut with the PDF being made in LO.
