Attention all University users: In light of the current COVID-19 situation and the closing of schools in many parts of the world, we want to inform you of ways any university who has a current SketchUp Pro Networked Lab License can now access SketchUp Pro as remote online learning is being instituted.
SketchUp Pro will be available to everyone who previously had access through their school’s networked lab so that all students and educators can continue to work from home successfully. School administrators may contact the reseller they purchased their school lab license through to request laptop licenses that can be shared with individual students/educators and accessed from anywhere. The new SketchUp Pro Institutional Laptop Licenses will be good through June 30, 2020.
It’s July 09, 2020. It seems that most universities around the world will have no choice but to continue to provide classes to students remotely at least until the end of year.
How Trimble will help universities to provide SU access to students working from home? June 30 is finito!
Thank you for your promptly help.
Hi @MSMIAMI, the temporary laptop licenses that we provided were distributed through our resellers. If you reach out to your reseller they will be able to work with you to determine the best way to continue access for your students.
As the Covid-19 situation continues to evolve around the world, we recognize that the 2020/’21 school year will feature a combination of distance learning and in-person classes. With the given uncertainty of the coming school year, we recommend purchasing licenses in accordance with your school’s plans for how you will be holding classes.
Educational Network licenses should only be purchased or renewed by schools that have firm plans to hold classes in-person.
Schools that are holding remote classes or a combination of in-person/remote are advised to purchase SketchUp Pro Institutional Laptop Licenses or individual student subscriptions of SketchUp Studio as these options will provide the most flexibility for SketchUp users this coming school year.
Hi Tori.
We are resellers in Denmark.
One of the universities in Copenhagen renewed their LICED20LAB1 Lab license back in June 2020.
Now there is a second lock down, and the students have to work from home and even take their exams from home.
The university have an 2019 license file, since the 2020 could run at their virtual environment, so they are asking for an extension of the license file that is running out now, but the message we get is: Trimble chose not to extend its Covid licenses.
Is there any possibilities for extending the license file until all the exams are over, or how can we help the university and the students pass this hurdle?
Thanks
