I was working on a file for last 7 days. today when I tried to open the file its showing this does not appear to be a sketchup model. i tried opening the .skb file. Copied it and renamed it still no luck. This is truly devastating. Can I anyhow get back my work?
Attached both the files.
loo.skp (5.9 MB)
skb renamed.skp (5.7 MB)
Both files contain nothing but zeroes. There is no SketchUp data in either file.
Where have you been saving the file while working on it? What version of SketchUp are you using? Your profile says 2020 but it’s been a few years.
There’s nothing to get back from these files unfortunately.
It was saved in my local drive. I am using Sketchup 2023.
What folder on the local drive? Were they deleted from the main folder and then recovered with some recovery application?
Please update your forum profile. Include the actual operating system and graphics card. “nvidea” is not an operating system and “16gb” is not a graphics card.
Haha I see. I actually created this profile way back. I will surely update my profile.
Normal drive folder. No Nothing was deleted or recovered.
What’s a “Normal drive folder”? I would consider a check of the drive to make sure it’s not failing.
I have other files in the same folder which are not corrupted and running with SU.
That’s good. Unfortunately that one didn’t survive.
