SketchUp, but when you're just not into houses

Could be, although no doubt there are a million ten-minute-or-longer videos about it on YouTube that could have been 30 seconds long were it not for the monetization algorithms.

LHS fender and mudguard, getting closer to final shape. The mudguard (forward section) is still not quite right, and the inner hinge arm is missing some weld beads, but otherwise not too far off finished.

And now it’s “good enough”. For me, anyhow.

People claim SketchUp is fun, but this model was about as entertaining as stage IV bowel cancer.

And it’s yet another example of the drawing being harder to make than the actual object. General Dynamics assemble theirs from a semi-pressed template they cut, fold and weld into the ludicrous shape of this abomination. It’s heavy sheet, at least 16 gauge (which is what we used) and likely thicker. It took me way longer to draw the mudguard than it did to bash one together for real.

You guys are total masochists. :face_with_peeking_eye:

Hi guys.
It is an incredible model of an Abrams tank.
Is there some way I can get in contact with the person who created this?
My thanks - WarrenB

This is all that is knowable of him:

With a simple search I found this type of model on 3DW

Hello Anssi thank you.
This is frustrating- if any one is in contact with anon please pass along my email —

t h e { d o t } s t r a n g e l e r { a t } g m a i l {d o t } c o m

This is my old throw-away account I am not concerned about spam in it.
I am very eager to get in touch with the artist and I will make it worth his while!

Thank you

Hello bmaxim thanks for the model, it is nice but it has some errors.
There are 100’s like it online but none are quite right. The one in this forum is perfect! It looks like it could be created from the Abe’s original blueprints.
Please let me know if there is any way to contact the artist of the Abrams in this forum.

Thanks!
