SketchUp animation with alpha channel (transparent background)

Hey, I have an 8 second animation exported from SketchUp that I need to include alpha channel to have the background transparent. Is there a plugin I could download to get the alpha channel or do I have to do it on V-Ray etc? At first I thought exporting the 4mp. as mov. file would do it but seems like it’s not as easy as that.

I’m using SketchUp 2025 desktop, any help would be appreciated!

Export the background in a green screen color and work it out in post?

But since it is only 8 seconds:

Export 24 or 30 frames per second as PNG with transparent background, combine in Ps?

I would probably do that, export separate images and combine in a video editor

It seems we can export PNG with transparent background while exporting a still image, but there’s no option for that when exporting an animation (at least on PC), even as a set of png’s
Green background seems the best option

Export individual PNG at the proper frame rate, combine in post.

On Mac the export animation, as images sequence, PNG, does have a transparent option.

Ground and sky are not counted as being background. You would want to hide those, to truly get a transparent background.

Two bad this option is not in the windows version.

Let’s hope they will bring that option to the windows version too
