Sketchup 2024 often closes at startup Without messages and without a panel to send errors. Shortly after I try to start sketchup again and it starts perfectly. Where can I find the log to understand the reason for Sketchup closing

Please correct your forum profile, as it is misleading. To use the extensions you list, you have to be running SketchUp Pro, as none of the other versions are able to use extensions. The specific version you are running may be important for determining the cause of your crash - unless it is a cracked version, in which case you have come to the wrong place for help.

Sorry if I made a mistake in the forum, my English is terrible. However I have a version of sketchup pro 2024 with Normal license and Vray 6 2 for Sketchup with normal license. All the plugins you have in mind, the most popular are regularly licensed

Please correct your forum profile with the right information.

When you installed SketchUp 2024 did you right click on the downloaded installer and choose Run as administrator?

Commonly closes on start up are due to out of date graphics drivers. Go to the graphics card maker’s website and get their latest drivers to install. After installing them do a cold reboot of your computer.

I have installed SketchUp in administrator mode, and my NVIDIA 3070 drivers are up to date. I’ve also tried a system restore, but to no avail. Nothing works. The strange thing is that when SketchUp closes on me, I reopen it, and it works without closing again, without having made any changes.

Essentially, I wanted to know if there’s a log file where the startup phases with various errors are recorded. I’ve tried keeping the Ruby console interface open, but I don’t see anything unusual. I haven’t understood what I need to modify based on the forum discussions.

Out of curiosity, are you running a VPN on your computer? I experienced the same SketchUp closing behavior you describe when using our office VPN with my laptop. The fix is to configure your VPN to allow tunnelling for SketchUp or add it on the VPN’s white list or allowed applications. Or alternatively, disable VPN when using SketchUp.

Hope this helps.

I don’t have the VPN active and anyway I don’t know why it doesn’t work at the first start sometimes not even at the second then it starts normally. In my opinion it’s some plugin that collides but sometimes it manages to start. Then once it starts it works without major problems

So disable the extensions and see what happens. If no problems. Enable half of them and try again. If no problems, enable half the remaining ones and repeat. If there is a problem diable half and see what you get. You should be able to narrow it down that way.

And again, fix your forum profile.

Now I’m doing some tests I didn’t understand what I have to solve on the forum explain to me because I didn’t understand where I have to go what I have to correct

Click on your avatar image at the top right right corner of the forum page. Click on the Person icon, then Preferences, and Profile. Make the edits and scroll to the bottom to save the changes.

My English is terrible but I didn’t understand what’s wrong in my profile I didn’t write anything dangerous

No one said you wrote anything dangerous. It’s just confusing. SketchUp for Schools is a web based version for young school children. If you are using SketchUp 2022, 2023, or 2024 you must have a SketchUp Pro or SketchUp Studio subscription license type.
