SketchUp Pro (2023 version downloaded) does not want to run on my new Macbook Air M2. It simply will not open, the app just says “Application not responding”, so I have to force quit. The Mac shipped with OS Monterey, and I updated to Ventura, which did not help. What should I try?
I just downloaded the 2022 version of Sketchup, and it runs fine…so why not the 2023 version?

There is no “Free plan” version you can install on your computer.
Is your MacOS up to date? Have you downloaded the Mac version and not the Windows version?
