Sketch up file too big need help to purge smaller (330mb)

i am very anxious. i have a sketch up file that is around 330mb. i added 3d warehouses so it is heavy, i downloaded the clean by thom thom but it is running very slowly, is there a way to reduce the file smaller to around 180-240mb. i have very complex stuff inside but please help me. my laptop graphic card is NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU (12 GB)
Intel(R) Graphics (128 MB) and processor Intel(R) Core™ Ultra 9 275HX (2.70 GHz).

well…

first, if you want help, share the file.

but how, it’s too heavy?

wetransfer.

there are tools you can use, first of all is just the normal purge inside sketchup.
then there are tools like CG impact report that will tell you what is so heavy in your file. and tools like material resizer that will make your material smaller.

but right now, without looking at the file, can’t say what is the problem.

here is the link Transfer.it thank u for the reply..i am new to sketch up..is it possible to reduce the files to 100mb? i know its heavy bc i added 3d warehouses but it is neccessary for my model but if it really needed to be deleted please tell me so..thank u

there is no magic here.

100mb ? no.
not without removing stuff and replacing with less complex / heavy models.

your model is obese.

27 million lines, 12 million faces, 33k component copies and 35,5k groups.

some of these groups and components are huge.

and when you compound the copies, it’s massive.

learn to clean what you download from the warehouse. that’s all. that’s it. nobody can do it for you. you download something, and you check it, and you clean the unneeded stuff.

like this. in your bridge.
I don’t think you need that, especially since it’s hidden in the structure.

you’ve got groups that should be components. and raw geometry that… should be copies of a component too.

I mean, you choose how much details you need.
when you place something, ask yourself, is it gonna be visible ?

also, use tags. right now your tags are just the result of what you downloaded. they’re here to help you manage your file’s visibility, so you can hide stuff you don’t need and show them only when you do.

yeah, and off course, materials. select them all in material resizer and resize to 1000px max. or even lower.

it’s like I said, get these two plugins. the first one will tell you what groups or components need to be changed or at least cleaned.

the second one allows you to make your 1800 materials slimmer.

use tags. delete all the existing tags, put the geometry back to untagged, and then put all the ceiling structure on one tag. and hide it. and then put the plan on another tag. and hide it. and so on.
it wont make your model lighter but at least it’ll be more manageable.

and yeah, check the models you’ve downloaded, check for hidden stuff, check for extra details. check for nuts and bolts modelled inside inaccessible areas.

also, when you’re “cleaning” each group and component, you can use cleanup3, another free plugin, to merge all coplanar faces. because you have a lot of unuseful geometry right now, result of bad technique / import from another software.

like that. so many lines could be erased.

alright.. thanks so much for the advice..:folded_hands: :folded_hands:
