Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, Trimble grants you a non-transferable, non-sublicensable, non-exclusive license to input, upload, download, reproduce, adapt, make derivative works based on, publicly perform and display, and modify the Trimble Content available through the Software in connection with the normal course of the operation of such Software.
I think it would be silly for anyone to buy a license for SketchUp 2018 at this stage even if it were allowed by the EULA.

First of all, the transfer of the program license in EU countries is allowed. Secondly, in a situation like now that SU subscription holders have constant problems with launching the program, having a classic version independent of the network connection does not seem silly. Especially since there is really no “gulf” in the possibilities of these versions.
Afaik the transfer of a software license is allowed, if a physical package of the software incl. the license is transferred, ESD products (Electronic Software Distribution) are not covered by this rule. Besides of this, Trimble won’t do any changes to a legay product w/o maintenance as e.g. changing the licensee or resetting exisiting product activations.
The temporary login problems should be fixed in the meanwhile, at least according to Trimble.
One of the assets of recent version is not only new fuctionality but lots of bug fixes as well as support of new operatings systems (macOS!) too.

This is not true. I recently transferred the license for this type of software myself. But often development companies and resellers try this trick to prevent the transfer.
