Hi, I’m a beginner so bare with me! I need to make a sphere that is segmented into 6 parts, I then need to ‘open’ the sphere up like a flower. Every tine I rotate the segments with the rotate tool they end up in the wrong place/ not moving on the right axis.
I made a sphere then segmented it along the geometry so I have 6 parts. I just cant make them open evenly how I want them too!
I would also like a bit of thickness to my sphere - but I think I should have done that when I first made it.
I know the image has 8 segments but I think I only want 6 now.
I would model the “petal” using a cross section profile and an arc as a path for Follow Me. Make the petal geometry into a component and Rotate it out to the desired angle. Then use Rotate/Copy to make copies of the petal around the center.
Something to note, from your image it appears that you haven’t taken advantage of working with things aligned to the axes. I may be wrong but it looks that way. Your ‘petals’ appear twisted, which may be deliberate.
Keeping your circles aligned with an axis lets you easily match things up and the same with the ‘petals’, if created on axis they can easily be rotated on axis.
