Sefaira - Conventional combi boiler analysis?

Hi all

I apologise if this has been asked before or is seemingly obvious, I am new to the software.

I am working on a dissertation where I compare the existing and proposed building performance of a residential dwelling. So, to avoid doing a whole SAP analysis, I would like to model the existing dwelling performance on Sefaira but I am getting confused with the heating analysis as it uses a lot of terms I am unfamiliar with.

All I want is to select a normal combi boiler for heating and select its efficiency as the heating source is LPG gas and so differs in efficiency from defaults. Natural ventilation will be used for cooling so I don’t want any air handling being added into the analysis.

Is this possible through Sefaira or is it back to SAP for me?

Thanks

Hi

what is the HVAC system that you are assuming in your project?

It sounds like It’s a LPG fuelled combo-boiler that heats radiators and the domestic hot water- as is the default in the UK.

Rather than an HVAC

@vladimir_bajic There is no HVAC system in the house currently - it just uses a combi boiler for heating and natural ventilation for cooling. I can pass on the model of the boiler if that helps?

@Elmtec-Adam that is correct, the house is in a remote part of the UK.

There is a pos here about how you could configure it for radiators

Hi.

Use Heating and Ventilation system and select gas-fired boiler. You will be able to change the efficiency of the boiler.

Hi

Thanks for your comment.

I tried to do this however it only lets you choose gas fired boiler for the heating hot water source and not the space heating so I have ran into another problem. Does this relate to the hot water in taps/sinks or the hot water inside the radiators? The space heating is fed by the gas boiler; the hot water in the taps etc can be fed by either the gas boiler or an electric element inside.

Also, why does the system assume there is a central outdoor air handling unit in the Air Side section and is there a way to remove it? Same with the HVAC schedule in the Space Use section- does that simply mean what the heating schedule is within the house or does it add some imaginary HVAC system into the calculations?

The house doesnt have any of these things, it is just a normal old house in desperate need of retrofitting.
