We are a team of educators preparing a research paper for an academic journal. We created a technical diagram using SketchUp Web (Free) and would like to include it in our publication.
The journal editor asked if formal permission or a separate license is required for this. Our use is entirely educational and non-commercial.
Could you please clarify:
Can diagrams made in SketchUp Web (Free) be reproduced in academic journals without additional permission?
How to acquire any official documentation on usage rights for educational publications?
I doubt anyone from the SKP team will comment publicly here. You should have your legal counsel review the EULA and advise you.

2.4. Free Versions; Trials and Betas. “Free Versions” means any Offering made available to Customer for use without a fee. “Trials and
Betas” means any Offering or any features thereof made available on a evaluation or trial basis or as an alpha, beta, or early access
offering, in any case free or otherwise. Unless otherwise set forth in the Documentation or the Agreement, Customer may only use Free
Versions in a non-production environment and for non-commercial purposes, and Trials and Betas may only be used solely for Customer’s
internal evaluation to determine whether to purchase a license or subscription to the Offering.
