I’m in a bit of a tough spot and could really use some help. My boss recently passed away, and I’m working hard to continue his business and legacy. We specialized in building custom Japanese structures, and while I’ve been studying his plans, I have to admit I’m not as skilled in SketchUp as he was.
Right now, I’m stuck on adding skip sheathing to a curved draped roof in one of the models. I have a lot of questions about this and other aspects of the designs.
If anyone experienced with SketchUp could assist me, I’d really appreciate it. Ideally, I’d like to set up a video call so I can ask questions and get some guidance. Please let me know if you can help or if you can point me in the direction of someone who might.
Do you have an image or screen capture of what you’re working with or trying to achieve? I’m guessing from your description the rafters are curving rather than just a straight pitch, so each board of the skip sheathing is at a different pitch than any other.
I do lots of traditional timber work. Not sure I can help but send me a message here or to my email via my website found in my profile and we can talk.
