I’m trying to incorporate Trimble Connect into my workflow. Ideally I would like to save SU files to my hard drive and to Trimble Connect.
Previously if I’m remembering correctly, selecting “Save” always saved to hard drive, whether the SU file was saved to Trimble Connect or not. To save/update the SU file in Trimble Connect you had to select “Save to Trimble Connect” to publish the SU file to TC cloud.
Currently I have a SU file that I started by saving to hard drive only. Then I selected “Save to Trimble Connect” and it is now saved there as well.
The problem is now when I select “Save”, instead of saving to hard drive it saves/updates only in Trimble Connect (shows updated date/time). The SU file on hard drive does not update (shows old date/time).
Is this an update that changed with SU2024? If saving the SU file to TC, will “Save” always now only update the TC saved SU file and not save to hard drive like it use to?
Any help understanding how this works (or if this is my error) would be very appreciated.
Best practice in this case is to keep saving on a local device as your used to and to have a folder structure that maps the corresponding Project in the Trimble cloud.
If you download the Trimble Connect Sync app and install it, you can than set a schedule to sync on a daily or hourly base, not needing to manually save to two locations.
So there is no bug correct? SU2024 will use the “Save” selection to save the SU file to TC if you once you have selected “Save to Trimble Connect” once?
