Given the start situation in the attached screenshot, I am trying to figure out how can I rotate the red object by starting from the “pivot point” and then rotate it clockwise so that the red object’s left edge/side would snap to the interception of “End of rotation” guide line and left side of the blue object? I can select the right side of the red object as the second point for the rotate and it snaps fine but selecting the left side of the red object as the second rotate point does not seem to work in similar fashion.
I am sure there is a super simple solution for this but I just not seeing it!!
snapping usually occurs at the end of vertices. It might help to draw some guide lines to help with the snapping. If you drew a line from the “pivot point” to the “end of rotation for left edge” you would create places to snap to.
There is a snap location even with the guide line but the problem is how SketchUp aligns the object with that snap location. But I just tried with a regular line also, shown here in the screenshot.
When I select the top right corner as the start point and left edge as the second point for the rotate tool, SketchUp then shows temporary guide line through the snap location but does not rotate the red object so that the left edge would pass through this point.
