Request for Student Access to Free SketchUp Pro License

Hello SketchUp Support,

I hope this message finds you well. I am a current student at Technological Institute of the Philippines, and I am seeking assistance to obtain free access to SketchUp Pro as part of the student offer. I have previously accessed this free license during my academic years and would like to request access again.

Could you please guide me through the process for verifying my student status and obtaining the free educational license for SketchUp Pro? Below are my details:

  • Full Name: Phoebe M. Manuel

  • University Name: Technological Institute of the Philippines

  • Student Email Address: mpmmanuel@tip.edu.ph

  • Course/Program: BSArchitecture

  • Enrollment Status: 4th year student

If you require any further documentation, such as a student ID or class schedule, I am happy to provide that.

Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to your prompt response.

Best regards,
Phoebe M. Manuel

AFAIK student licenses are not free.

There isn’t a free Sketchup pro student version, you get a big discount if you’re a student, the last time I checked it was $50 dollars per year.

55.00 USD. Not sure if this is the site to use for all countries but it’s what I’ve used and recommended to my students in the past.

Hi. I am also an architecture student at TIP QC. I’m curious how you were able to get free student access on Pro? Can you please share? Thank you

You have to check the resellers on your country, if your country doesn’t have an official reseller, it’s almost impossible to get a license, I know it because there’s not an official reseller in my country, when I was a student SketchUp didn’t have a deal with my university either, luckily there was SketchUp make back then so we didn’t have to cr ack software, and I discovered Layout (the only missing feature on the make version) a few years after graduating.

Thank you. I just checked with the resellers in our country an hour ago, and they don’t offer a free student license for university students. We’re in the Philippines, and they sell the student license for 81 USD, which is higher than the 55 USD in the US and Canada.

he didn’t. because there are no free student version.

Yeah they probably want to profit from it, I don’t know if Trimble is aware of it. Anyways it’s still better than $400 but I think that student licenses should be free, like most of the offer from other softwares.

Trimble can’t actually dictate the price a reseller sells a product at - that’s illegal.

However, it’s quite possible that exchange rates, card transaction fees , student verification and VAT are all adding up as a cost outside of the USA.

The price seems hefty. Our local Finnish reseller charges 53 € + VAT for student licenses

A quick scoot around online looks like $76 is a common price in the Philippines.
Perhaps some local taxes or tariffs make that happen.
