Renew Classic License

I have Sketchup Pro 2021. I used and paid for Sketchup for over 10 years. I bought a new computer and Trimble is saying they “no longer have the ability” to support Classic licenses. Well, 1st of all, I’m not looking for support, I just want to get Sketchup loaded on the new computer. 2nd of all, we were told repeatedly that we would be able to indefinitely. We owned it. Any help would be appreciated.

well that’s called support. you’re asking them for help. helping people install their software is part of support. :slight_smile:

that’s still true.however, your licence came with a set number of machines it could be installed on. because you bought ONE licence. if you could install the licence on as many machines as you wanted, then it wouldn’t be a licence.
meaning that you have to uninstall your licence from any old computer before installing it on a new computer.
it’s like having 2 keys for your home. if you give one to a friend, and give the other to your mate, then you don’t have keys left. and you have to get one back.

Make sure you have an original licence information (Name:xx Company: xx Ser.-Nr. 2021: W… Auth-Code: xxxx) for SU2021. You should have an email about it or you should have been archived it on other way.

Locate your original installer file (something like: SketchUpPro-2021-1.1.exe) on your computer. If you cant find, and Sketchup is no longer offer to download, you need to find an alternative place to download it. (This can be one: Download-Center – SketchUp 3D Modellierer )

In your old computer go to Help>>Manage licencing and Remove Licence…

Install the above mentioned installer file to your new computer by right click on it and chose Run as administrator.
Add your licence.

I do have 2 computers and I did remove the license from one of them.

How can I access my SketchUp Pro serial number and authorization code for older versions?

If you have a Classic License for an older version of SketchUp, License Manager can help you find your authorization code.

I have a similar problem moving my SketchUp Pro 2019 Desktop to a new Computer. But my Computer crashed and only shows a black screen. So I can not remove the license there, since I can’t get into the Computer any more.

I want to run this license now on a MacBook Pro 15-inch. 2019 with a Graphic card “Radeon Pro 560X 4 GB Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB”.

What can I do?
