Push/Pull algorithm

That is very nice. However, I think the behavior noted by @simoncbevans in the original post is not whether Push Pull leaves back-faces visible on the exterior of a volume, but rather the direction in which a double-click (repeated) invocation of Push Pull operates.

I understood that, and there may be imperfections to fix. But, any fixes at this point would be based on the new behavior.

This unexpected behavior off double click isn’t new, certainly not related to the recent update or change to the butter side up.

Confirming what has already been asserted – provided both faces are oriented with butter-sides facing the same direction (‘inward’ or ‘outward’), push-pulling one face a certain distance, in a certain direction, should set the stage for you to double-click another face the same distance in the same direction.
The next time any of you experience a seemingly inverted P/P double-click oddity, I’d be keen to check it out. We’d need a file that offers a ‘set stage’ for push-pulling something, and then getting an unexpected result when double-clicking something else in order to investigate what’s going on.

I may have realised why I’m getting inconsistent behaviour… I use Eneroth Face Creator a lot (hotkeyed).
It still uses the old method of making the back face point upward.

I’ll try to remember when it next happens. However, it is a bit of a surprise to learn that it has (presumably) never been noticed chez head office!

Used to see it all the time (for reasons to do with faces being inside out), and also used to see it because of a Push/Pull <> Measurement box bug that we fixed* but haven’t seen it since.

*There was a bug affecting a workflow whereby: if a user pulled a face ‘outward’ to a distance, of say 14’ 3 1/2" and then input a specific measurement of 6’ - the face would have most recently ‘traveled’ in an inward direction and therefore the next double-click would go ‘in.’ We fixed that one too.

I have the same problem quite often
