PSA / question regarding keyboard shortcuts

In Prefences > Shortcuts, it seems like certain commands will not show up unless you are in a certain context?

e.g. I can only edit the shortcut for Edit / Item / Make Unique if I have a component selected.

I don’t fully understand the mechanic – that’s the only example I’ve discovered so far. I posted a feature request about it.

PS I recently started using 2 new techniques to boost the keys I can easily reach with my left hand:

  • swapped CAPS / CTRL (using SharpKeys on Windows) – otherwise, try using your palm to hit CTRL
  • using Space as function key (see Space-Fn @ Geekhack)

Also, “intersect with selected” only works with geometry selected… If I remember correctly.
