I’m glad this thread still receives a mention every now and then. An EASY, SKETCHUP-LIKE way to get section-fills is much needed. Trimble showed us in 2025 that they can add any number of additional fields to materials, so now we have bump maps, and metallnes and what not. Surely it would be possible to add “section fill pattern” to materials as well… 
I keep going back to this thread every once in a while and keep finding that my proposal still is simple as in “the Section cut for the rest of us”. It wouldn’t break existing plugins and it wouldn’t overburden users that don’t need it but it would solve SO MANY documentation problems.
I am sure the latest price increase means there are more programmers hired to address this. Right? RIGHT?!
