SU2025 on Win 10: Struggling here with paper size assignment. Where does SU get its paper size properties when printing?
From the device (using print management mcc) I setup default properties (setting default paper size = Super B 13x19).When I go to SU to print and click the Properties button from the SU Print dialog the current paper size is set to letter. Other advanced settings that I made in print manger carry over to the app as expected.

That would imply that that the paper size your printer is set to print on. SketchUp gets it’s paper sizes from the printer driver for the selected printer. If you want to set up something to print on a different paper size do that in LayOut and export a PDF for printing. In LayOut you can choose any paper size up to 200 inches square.
Yes, From Devices>Printer>HP7500>Preferences> set default paper size to Super B. (which I shouldn’t have to do) Fire up SU and the Print dialog for my HP7500 device shows Letter as default. So, I pick Super B from the available paper sizes pull down and SU still prints a Letter size print on Super B paper.
I should be able to print from SU to any size paper that my printer supports. I want to shoot a draft print for review and shouldn’t have to go through the extra steps you mentioned above. Shouldn’t have to use Layout.
Maybe it’s all those years of printing/plotting using AutoCAD, looking for a similar engine.
That’s still the wrong way of doing it on AutoCAD, it was the only way to do it 40 years ago, when the only way to print was doing it from the model viewport, then layout was introduced and all the printing settings among other things like dimensions and titles, should be done on the paper layout creating viewports, the same way it’s done on sketchup and layout.
yeah I understand Paper Space/Model Space but, if you were in model space and just wanted something on paper didn’t care about scaling you could print from model space to any supported printer paper size.
The conflict I’m having is that it doesn’t matter what size paper I chose SU only outputs to letter size and I’m sure that’s not normal
