This is what I see when I export to PDF directly from your SKP file. I did change the camera to Parallel Projection so that it could be printed to scale.
Great help thanks! I used to print from SketchUp but if Layout is the program to use, I’ll start getting familiar with that!
Certainly in your drawing example, the 2D picture is much better presented.
Is Layout essentially a 2D tool only, or have I assumed wrongly?
While you can draw with the tools in LayOut, it is primarily the application to use to create documents such as plans, presentations, and other stuff you might need to share with others or print out. It is designed to take the scenes you create in SketchUp and use them as viewports on the page. It maintains a dynamic link from the SketchUp file so if you modify the file, you can automatically update all of the views in the document. In my second screen shot the shape is your model. I deleted your dimensions, created a scene in SU and sent the file to LayOut. In LayOut, I set the scale of the viewport (I used 4:1 because of the tiny size) and then added the dimensions. Then I exported a PDF from which I made the screenshot.
Following are some examples of things I’ve done using SketchUp and LayOut.
The pattern for the holes is shown at full size when the PDF is printed with no scaling.
In this case I have several views of the model on the same page. All tect and dimensions are added in LayOut.
And from the same model, an exploded view scene from the SketchUp file with labels added in LayOut.
And here are three different scenes from the same SketchUp file shown on the same page.
